WOW! Assumption Iloilo's First Two Days Of Playfest 2015

Hey everyone! So, here in Assumption Iloilo; where WORLD CLASS theatre can be found in high school students, the past two days have been PHENOMENAL! Care to guess why? Oh, but I bet you already know! Play Festival 2015 has begun!

As you may know, Play Festival ’15 began last yesterday, December 3rd of 2015, and will continue on until next week, December 11th, 2015. Might I tell you, the first two days of the Play Festival started off wondrously! Even the newcomer seventh graders shined very brightly during their time on stage. I will be the first one to say that this year’s Play Festival will be PHENOMENAL!

How exciting plays can be. People lined up outside of the great St. Anne’s Hall, eager to watch this year’s line-up of shows. Clearly, the excitement can be seen on their faces as they wait to enter the building where the magic begins, and even inside the Hall, while they wait for the show to start.

Yesterday’s shows were Grade 7's "Ibong Adarna" Parts I, II, and III. Also showing were Grade 8's "Florante At Laura", "Agape: Ang Tunay Na Pag-Ibig" (based on the hit Korean movie “Miracle In Cell No. 7”), and "Ang Luha Ng Buwaya".

Today’s shows for the Grade 7 were "Wanted A Chaperon" (dangerously hilarious, might I add), "New Yorker In Tondo", and "Wow, These Americans!" The Grade 8 people, on the other hand, put on fantastic shows of "The Tale Of Princess Hase" (something like a Japanese Snow White), "Rhodopis" (an Egyptian Cinderella), and "Love In A Time Of Hate" (based on the tale of Radin Mas Ayu).

All shows were FANTASTIC! Yes, there were shows that stood out, but they were all spectacular! To be exposed in theatre and be very good at staging plays in seventh and eighth grade, and as young as they are, it is very admirable!

Here are some of the highlights of the Grade 7 and Grade 8 plays in pictures:
Ibong Adarna Part I: Piedras Platas

Ibong Adarna Part II: Ang Mahiwagang Balon
Ibong Adarna Part III: Reino De Los Cristales
Ang Luha Ng Buwaya
